The next thing I did was replace the tubes. A pair of Electro Harmonix 12AX7EH's power the preamp section and a matched set of GT 5881's were used for the power tubes. The 5881's are low profile versions of the 6L6GC, which allows for better cooling. A Sovtek 5AR4 rectifier tube was used to keep the current coming.
